Motorsport, founded by Roberto Cavallari and Alfredo
Cappelletti has been active in car racing since 1995.
The company made its debut in the 1996 Eurocup F.Renault
championship working for the official Tatuus team with
three drivers; the Brazilian Enrique Bernoldi and the
Italian Andrea De Lorenzi and Danilo Cascio.
Bernoldi dominated the season winning eight races out
of ten and won the European title, while the other drivers
finished third and seventh.
In 1997 JD Motorsport took part in the F.Renault Eurocup
Championship with Tatuus again and the drivers Van Hooydonk,
Busnelli and Hanashiro.
The Team gained
the '97 European title with the driver Van Hooydonk
while Busnelli finished second.
In 1998 JD run for Tatuus three cars with the Brazilians
Gastao Fraguas and Giuliano Losacco and the Frenchman
Bruno Besson.
JD Tatuus won the title again thanks to the driver Bruno
Besson.
In 1999 JD Motorsport has decided to take part in the
Eurocup F.Renault championship with its own team.
The team includes a line up of three drivers: the Brazilian
Gastao Fraguas and the Italians Matteo Bobbi and Gianmaria
Bruni.
Thanks to the driver G.M. Bruni, JD Motorsport wins
the European title for the fourth time.
In 2000 the Team takes part both in the Eurocup and
in the Italian Formula Renault 2000 championship, the
new serie which represents the sixth generation in the
promotional single-seater formula.
The drivers of this season are the Italian Matteo Grassotto
and Richard Antinucci who finished third and fourth
in the Eurocup, and the French Jean De Pourtales.
In the 2001 Eurocup Championship the team lines up the
Argentinean Christian Kissling the Swiss Benjiamin Leuenberger
and the German Marcel Lasée.
Marcel gives to the Team the fifth title winning the
German F. Renault championship even if they took part
only in some races.
In 2002 JD Motorsport takes part both in the Eurocup
Championship and in the German one with the drivers
Christian Klein and Robert Schluenssen. A new triumph
for the team which gains the German title with Klien.
In 2003 JD Motorsport , which has already
confirmed the drivers Robert Schluenssen ,the Austrian
Robert Kofler and the Russian Michael Aleshin will
be engaged in the German F.Renault 2000 championship
and in the European Masters .
The strong Danish driver Robert Schluennssen concludes
the season with a fantastic 2nd. place in the European
Masters, while in the German series conclude to 4th.
and 5th. place, conquering the title of best Team
of the German Series with the more elevated number
of points.
2004 the Team took part in the Eurocup
F.Renault 2000 and in the German
F.Renault 2000 Championship with the drivers Dominique
Claessens (USA), Reinhard Kofler (A), Patrick Rocha (BR) and classified
4° with Reinhard Kofler in the Eurocup Championship.
The 2005 season begin with an excellent 2° place
of C. Iaconelli (BR) to the debut in the first Italian
race to Vallelunga. The Team will respectively finish
the season to 10° and 11° place in the Eurocup
with X. Maassen (NL) and A. Hellmeister (BR), with
the Team for few races, to remember the fantastic
2° place conquered by X. Maassen in the International
race of the Marlboro Masters in Zandvoort and a 3°
place to Monza in the last Eurocup race.
After has won the European Team Championship in the 2006, the Team JD Motorsport had a new challenge taking part into the International Formula Master European Championship in the 2007 sporting season. The Team situated in Novara didn’t fail in expected and got important scores thank to it was the 2nd best one in both classifications, Drivers and Teams.
The 2008 season has seen the Team JD Motorsport protagonist in European races, one more time, where it has won everything it could win: 1st in the Final Drivers Standing with its New Zealand driver, Chris Van der Drift, and 1st in the Final Teams Standing becoming the best European Team, Formula Master Series.
