Team JD Motorsport formalizes the agreement reached with Riccardo Agostini for the 2012 Formula 3 Sporting Season.
To the Driver from Padova will be given one of the two Mygale F3 steering wheels, JD is Mygale Official Team, so that he could fight for the Italian F3 European Series final prize; so it’s renewed the trust between Riccardo Agostini and JD Motorsport after more than half season together in Formula Abarth during 2011 and after brilliant winter tests thanks to he started in getting confidence with the French single seater.
Roberto Cavallari:
“In this job/sport it’s basic the total mutual trust between all Team members. Last year Riccardo was able to fit himself perfectly into the Team having a great relationship with engineers and mechanics; he had been able fight for the first positions with the team again: so, we’re everybody happy to “promote” him in our ambitious F3 program by MYGALE. He has been able to adapt himself quickly to the new F3 car during the few tests he had in winter, giving important information about the 2012 upgrade developments to which our engineers, in collaboration with Mygale Technical Staff, are working for one month to bring them on track in the next tests in March”.
Riccardo Agostini :
“I’m flattered to be able in having my F3 debut with Roberto Cavallari and give my help to the project JD and Mygale have planned for the 2012 season. Tests I had in the end of the year with JD and Mygale confirmed what Cavallari, Team Manager, said about this chassis and watching the first lap times I’m confident in believing we can be competitive in the next Italian F3 European Series.
No doubts on the continuity of the sport relationship with the Team of Vespolate which welcomed me with great enthusiasm in the middle of 2011 F.Abarth Championship. Surely the confidence will allow to everybody to get good results based on good job done until now; the choice of the Championship... be a prophet at homeland is always very difficult but definitely very ambitious”.

Team JD Motorsport after very good winter tests and good performances in 2010, announces now the agreement signed with Mygale, becoming the only one Mygale Official Team.
JD Motorsport will come back in Formula 3, on the Italian F3 European Series starting grid, with the complete Technical support from the French racing cars Manufacturer; the Team wants put on track two single seaters so that they are already in an advanced stage of installation with the 2012 upgrades and the new FIAT engine (240hp) tested with satisfy few days ago thanks to the tester Raffaele Giammaria.

“After good winter tests everything was clearly foreseeable. The Partnership with Mygale consolidates our mutual trust and allow us to deploy 2 cars having a technical and professional support possible only with a Manufacturer; in add we are evaluating the possibility in racing in other F3 International Championships always in partnership with Mygale.
About Drivers we could announce the first one within few days, while about the second one we will consider with attention all negotiations actually in progress”.

Bertrand Decoster (Mygale Group Chairman):
“F3 Italian Championship with JD Motorsport was our aim target for 2012. We had intensive winter testing and will support technically the program with a strong cooperation. We believe the Italian Championship is one of the best platform but also target to enter in other international ones during the season with JD Motorsport”.

Team JD Motorsport has well completed a shakedown the last 12th January, in Franciacorta circuit, where the Fiat FPT technicians have continue the updates development of the Italian F3 Championship car engine already with 2012 upgrades.
The Mygale single seater of the Team of Vespolate, run 130 laps, around 330 km in total, without any technical problem or failure.

A special thanks is for sure for the Driver of the Federation, Raffaele Giammaria, which had an important job into the JD Mygale, without any mistake so that he gave a good contribution both from the engine and chassis point of view.

Team JD Motorsport has well completed the planning of test settled for the end of 2011 with 4 days on the Spanish circuit in Valencia, Ricardo Tormo, running with Antonio Spavone and Riccardo Agostini.
Agostini stopped the chronometer on 1.29.341 being the fastest Driver until he was on track having an excellent feeling with F3 Mygale he was driving.
Well done for Spavone, too, which has continue to improve his confidence with the car on a completely new track for him so that he could also make more experience on a technical circuit like Valencia is, getting his fastest time in 1.30.264.

After 2500 km of testing made in one month, between November and December, without any technical failures, the Team JD Motorsport activity on track will restart the next February 2012.

Team JD Motorsport has completed in the best way the two test days programmed for testing some new aerodynamicist details, in Vallelunga the last 30th November and 1st December getting the fastest lap time of both days.
Riccardo Agostini in the first day stopped chronometer in 1.29.823 reducing the Italian F3 Pole Position lap time scored this year, like I already done in Imola the last week.
In the second day JD brought Antonio Spavone to his personal debut on a F3 single seater: after the first laps useful to understand the new car Antonio had a good test day getting lap by lap a better feeling with car devices.

Next tests for Team JD Motorsport to continue in the car development program will be in Valencia in the middle of December.

Team JD Motorsport (MYGALE-FPT) Antonio Spavone

Team JD Motorsport is back on track in Imola the last 23rd November using the Mygale F3 car powered by the Italian Championship FPT engine.
Driven by Riccardo Agostini, at his debut with a F3, he felt immediately a good feeling with the new single seater and he had a good job discovering characteristics and performance limits lap by lap until the end of the test day when he got a very important lap time, too, improving the F3 Pole Position lap time scored this year.
In add to the few developing steps used already for the 2012, JD Motorsport will continue the Mygale development, again with Riccardo Agostini, the next week in Vallelunga (30th November and 1st December).

Team JD Motorsport (MYGALE-FPT) Riccardo Agostini

Team JD Motorsport, with Antonio Spavone and Riccardo Agostini, went on track with two single seaters the last 5th November in Tianma-Shanghai circuit (China), in the Asian Event of the “Formula Pilota China” Championship, partnering with the Turism World Championship WTCC.
Unlucky the both Drivers which were affected by temperature with 39 degree therefore they were not physically better. Despite this Agostini stay quiet avoiding Free Practices and getting than a very good 3rd time during Qualifying Session, while Spavone didn’t improve more than the 14th time because of he couldn’t practice well with the track before for the engine failure and after for some brake problems during Free Practices.
On a tight circuit and with a bit more than 2 km in length, where it’s very difficult overtaking, he finished 13th in Race 1, while he has been able to manage Race 2 difficult conditions due to an heavy rain, too, crossing the line under the chequered flag 8th.
Agostini was good in keeping his starting position in Race 1 so that he was on the Podium, and in Race 2 he won one position than the start finishing 5th.

It has been a very good international experience for Team JD Motorsport and its Drivers, which has been possible thanks to the partnership with NORDMECCANICA GROUP, where, despite the difficult condition both due to the different environment and to the Driver’s health, the potential has been shown was very high considering the different tyres used comparing with the European Series and the track new both for the Team and Drivers.

Team JD Motorsport has given excellent performances with its three drivers in the last European Event in Barcelona, too, the last 30th October.
Riccardo Agostini, which confirm to be one of the best Italians in the Championship, got the 2nd row in Qualifying; in Race 1, innocent, was crashed by another car deleting all possibilities he had to get the Podium.
Always in Race 1, amazing comeback for Antonio Spavone able to close the gap from the 12th position to the 4th final place under the chequered flag getting his best season result in race having a race by race performances on the rise.
Very good performance for Jimmy Antunes, too, which had immediately a positive feeling with the track and the car thanks to he was able to close ten position during Race 1 finishing 8th; unfortunate that a mistake in Qualifying after 2 laps stopped him only at the 18th place on the starting grid taking out him for sure better results.
About Race 2, good race for Agostini when even if with a not perfect start he lost some positions, was able to finish 7th, while Spavone and Antunes couldn’t complete a comeback like in Race 1 getting the 11th and 12th place.

The Sporting Season is finished and Team JD Motorsport will be on track in Franciacorta already the next week (14th November 2011) preparing the 2012.

The European Season is closed to the end but Team JD Motorsport is not planning any stop so that it will be immediately on track in Shanghai (China), 6th November 2011, for the second last Event of the “Formula Pilota China” Championship, using Formula Abarth cars.
The Event, which is possible thanks to NORDMECCANICA GROUP, will have Team JD Motorsport protagonist with its two Drivers Antonio Spavone and Riccardo Agostini and will fight for keeping high its and Italian colours in the Far East.

Team JD Motorsport the next 28th-29th-30th October will race on the Circuit of Catalunya, in Barcelona, in the last 2011 European Formula Abarth round with its three drivers, Riccardo Agostini, Antonio Spavone and Jimmy Antunes.
Very important Event and very difficult race weekend, too, because no one JD Driver has driven yet on this track but in spite of this, as it’s already happened in Red Bull Ring, each one will give his best for finishing the Season in the best way.
After the very good performances two weeks ago in Monza with Agostini in Race 1 and Spavone and Antunes in Race 2, the Team will race to get the better result is possible after the good potential shown until now.

Team JD Motorsport has shown a very high potential even if the difficult due to a red flag during Qualifying in the Event on one of the most important of all Formula 1 World Championship circuits like is Monza.
In Qualifying a stop of the Session just after the tyres changing for getting the best performance, didn’t allow the regular planned stint so that A. Spavone and J. Antunes couldn’t get something better than 20th and 21st positions in the Race 1 Starting Grid but it has been not the same for Agostini which got a good 7th lap time in the few laps he run.
In Race 1 he was able to use in the best way potential of his car closing the gap until the 3rd position, than he lost a position finishing 4th for the cruel game of the streamline.
Bad luck for Antonio and Jimmy when, without any guilt, have been crashed so that they had to stop their Race 1; very good their performances in Race 2 where they closed the gap finishing 9th A. Spavone and 12th J. Antunes.
Regret about Agostini: jumped from the 1st row in Race 2, he has been crashed at the first chicane so he couldn’t fight for the victory which could be for sure possible for him after have seen the potential shown in Race 1 and the feeling he had with the car for the whole weekend.

Next appointment now into two weeks, in Spain, on another prestigious track of the motorsport in the World: Barcelona, the next 28th-29th-30th October 2011, for the last European Formula Abarth Event.
