CHASTAIN FINISHES 21ST KENTUCKY

GAFFNEY, S.C. (September 25, 2017) – Ross Chastain, driver of the No. 4  JD Motorsports with Gary Keller Chevrolet Camaro,  finished 21st in the VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300. Saturday night’s race at Kentucky Speedway was Chastain’s 100th NASCAR Xfinity Series start.

“We rolled off 21st and went forward a little bit,” Chastain said. “We fought a tight car all night, and we were loose into turn three. We got a lot better but just didn’t pick up as much speed as we thought we should have. We’ll go back to work and get ready for Dover, which should be a big one for this No. 4 team.”

Chastain remains 15th in NASCAR Xfinity Series driver points.

The series moves on to Dover International Speedway for the Drive Sober 200 on Saturday, September 30th.

“We had a pretty solid day and finished better than we started,” Rhodes said. “I started out pretty tight at the beginning of the race, but by the second stage the No. 01 crew had the car rotating pretty good. We had a consistent day and a 24th place finish, so we’ll take it and go to Dover.”

CHASTAIN FINISHES A HARD-FOUGHT 23RD AT CHICAGOLAND

CHASTAIN FINISHES A HARD-FOUGHT 23RD AT CHICAGOLAND

GAFFNEY, S.C. (September 18, 2017) – Ross Chastain overcame mechanical issues to finish 23rd in the NASCAR Xfinity Series Thehouse.Com 300 at Chicagoland Speedway.

Chastain had a fast No. 4 Gerber Collision & Glass Chevrolet Camaro all weekend and qualified in 21st place. Once the race started, however, Chastain reported that the car was down on RPMs. As soon as Stage 1 of the race was complete, Chastain brought the car to the garage so that the JD Motorsports with Gary Keller team could address the issue. Chastain lost 5 laps, but the No. 4 Chevy was turning great laps once back out on track. Despite being at a disadvantage early, Chastain raced hard to a solid finish.

“It was definitely a very challenging, but ultimately rewarding, day,” Chastain said. “We had a fast car in practice and qualifying. If not for the mechanical problems, I know we would have had a great shot at a top 20 or top 15 finish. I’m so proud of my No. 4 team for getting me back up to speed as fast as they did, and I can’t thank Gerber Collision & Glass enough for their support.”

The series moves on to Kentucky Speedway for the VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300 on Saturday, September 23rd.

“I had a good car at Chicagoland Speedway,” Rhodes said. “I started out pretty loose, the handling wasn’t quite where we wanted it, but the No. 01 team kept adjusting on it all day and had it going really good by the end of the race. This was a solid effort by everybody, and we finished strong.”
