In his first NASCAR Xfinity Series start at Pocono Raceway, Mills qualified in 31st place.

“This was a good day for my No. 15 team,” said Mills. “We improved all day, stayed out of trouble, and brought home a clean racecar. All in all, we had a solid race today, and I’m excited to be back next weekend in Michigan.”

POCONO RACEWAY A LEARNING EXPERIENCE FOR VINNIE MILLER

POCONO RACEWAY A LEARNING EXPERIENCE FOR VINNIE MILLER

GAFFNEY, S.C. (June 4, 2018) – Pocono Raceway, often called the “Tricky Triangle,” proved to be a challenge for NASCAR Xfinity Series rookie driver, Vinnie Miller.

Miller’s No. 01 JD Motorsports with Gary Keller Chevrolet Camaro started the Pocono Green 250 in 30th place, and he finished in 31st place with a clean racecar.

“I really enjoy racing at Pocono, but the Tricky Triangle wasn’t my friend this weekend,” said Miller. “We just struggled all weekend with finding speed. During the race on the restart, the cars in front of me started checking up, and I pulled down before the start/finish line which gave us a drive-through penalty, rookie mistake by me. We had a flat tire and had to pit under green – which put us behind, as well.  Despite all that we still came home with a clean car for Michigan. I know that the JD Motorsports with Gary Keller team will have a stout No. 01 JAS Expedited Trucking Camaro ready for my home track, Michigan International Speedway next weekend.”

GAFFNEY, S.C. (May 28, 2018) – Garrett Smithley struggled early in Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Alsco 300 but had an amazing comeback to finish in 14th place for team JD Motorsports with Gary Keller.

Smithley’s No. 0 FAME Chevrolet Camaro was too loose in qualifying, and he started the race in 36th place. Smithley fought a loose car through most of the race and spun out on lap 80. Smithley was able to keep the car off of the wall, and there was no damage. In the third stage of the race, the No. 0 crew made the right combo of adjustments, and Smithley raced his way to a 14th place finish on the lead lap.

“Charlotte never disappoints!,” said Smithley. “I was beginning to think that we just weren’t going to have any luck here today. I spun out and made some mistakes early in the race, but we came back and finished 14th. It was a heck of a day for FAME and for my ‘Number Nuthin’’ JD Motorsports team.”

ROSS CHASTAIN FINISHES 26TH AT CHARLOTTE MOTOR SPEEDWAY

GAFFNEY, S.C. (May 28, 2018) – Ross Chastain managed to salvage a 26th place in Saturday’s Alsco 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway despite mechanical issues.

Chastain advanced to round two in NASCAR Xfinity Series qualifying, and the No. 4 Florida Watermelon Association Chevrolet Camaro started the race in 18th place. Chastain had a great start to race and was running in the top-15 before he reported that the car was down on power around mid-race. Chastain visited the garage where the No. 4 team diagnosed it as a carburetor failure. Chastain went back out on track and finished a hard-fought 26th place.

“It’s a terrible feeling to have a fast car one second and no power the next second,” said Chastain. “I’m so proud of my No. 4 guys for giving me such a great car to start with, and for how they handled the issues in the middle of the race. Although it’s not the finish we were hoping for, we’ll take 26th.”

GAFFNEY, S.C. (May 28, 2018) – In a very challenging weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Vinnie Miller finished 28th place in Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Alsco 300.

“I can’t thank these JD Motorsports team guys enough for busting their tails after a tire blew in practice forcing us to a backup car,” said Miller. “To go out and have my first laps on the track be in qualifying and come back to have a 28th place finish is a true testament to their dedication. I really like Charlotte Motor Speedway and can’t wait to race the roval in the fall. A huge thank you to JAS Expedited Trucking for their support and sponsorship.
